New York Comic-Con 2022 Schedule: The Biggest Panels And Announcements To Check Out

New York Comic-Con is a festival of the biggest names in entertainment teasing their next big things. As comic culture dominates the movie and TV landscape, NYCC has become the go-to destination for just about anything sci-fi or fantasy related, along with anything esoteric enough to count as nerd culture. That means we can expect tons of new trailers, announcements, and more out of this year's Con. Thanks to the show's schedule, we already know some of what to expect.

Taking place once again at the Javits Center in New York City, this year's NYCC will feature first looks at tons of new and returning series and upcoming movies. Classic TV franchises like Scooby Doo and The Addams Family are getting high-profile spin-offs starring young female leads, and we might get a fresh look at both. Long-running hits like Star Trek and The Walking Dead are preparing to have major series come to a close, making this Comic Con a chance to say goodbye to those favorites and see what's coming next. Meanwhile, the Super Mario movie is set to release its first teaser-trailer, likely answering long-standing questions (and a fair bit of skepticism) about Chris Pratt's performance and the story direction.

New York Comic-Con takes place October 6-9. NYCC panels are typically not streamed online to watch live, but many of the debut trailers are shared with the public either immediately after a panel or sometime after the event. Check out the slate of what we expect to see below.

Super Mario Teaser-Trailer Premiere (October 6, 4 PM ET)

Though not officially part of the stage festivities, Illumination has scheduled the Mario movie trailer to premiere right as New York Comic-Con opens its doors. Much speculation has been made about key aspects of the film, including the story direction and the voice performance from Chris Pratt, who plays Mario. Though this is just a teaser trailer, we should get some idea of what's to come. The Mario movie is being directed by Aaron Horvath and Michael Jelenic, and Mario creator Shigeru Miyamoto is producing and is said to be very hands-on.

Velma (October 6, 3:30 PM ET – Main Stage)

This animated spin-off of Scooby-Doo follows the origins of the gang's brainy, bespectacled member. Mindy Kaling is executive producing, as well as voicing the lead character. We expect the panel to give us an early look at the show, which should include a taste of the adult-oriented humor, along with an official release date for the upcoming HBO Max series.

Krapopolis (October 7, 11 AM ET – Main Stage)

Dan Harmon of Community and Rick and Morty is working on his next animated series, which is set in ancient Greece. Krapopolis sees the gods and monsters try to get along as they help run one of the first human cities. While the show isn't going to premiere until 2023, the series will air a preview episode on November 27. This panel will focus on Harmon's creative process making a new show, but we would expect to see a trailer premiere as well.

Good Omens (October 7, 11 AM ET – Empire Stage)

The Neil Gaiman adaptation Good Omens was a hit for Amazon Prime's video service, and with a second season on the way, the creators are taking the stage for a fan Q&A. That's likely to include questions and details about the new season, and possibly even a first look.

The Wheel of Time & The Rings of Power (October 7, 4:15 PM ET – Empire Stage)

This panel from Prime Video will double up two of its fantasy series, The Wheel of Time and The Lord of the Rings prequel series The Rings of Power. The cast and creative teams are likely to drop hints about the future of both series, with Season 2 production underway on each of them. The panel also takes place just ahead of the season finale of Rings of Power, so we may see a teaser–and some tight-lipped panelists.

My Hero Academia (October 8, 12:30 PM ET – Empire Stage)

The hit anime series My Hero Academia will get its own panel at Comic-Con, featuring several voice actors from the show including Justin Briner, the voice of Deku. This is all coming right alongside the sixth season, which is premiering soon.

Star Trek (October 8, 4 PM ET – Empire Stage)

Star Trek is a Comic-Con mainstay, and this year's panel may be the swan song for one of its most popular Enterprise captains. Star Trek: Picard is preparing to air its third and final season on Paramount+, so the panel includes The Next Generation royalty Patrick Stewart, Jonathan Frakes, and LeVar Burton. The panel is also said to include voice actors from the kid-focused Star Trek: Prodigy series.

The Walking Dead (October 8, 5 PM ET – Main Stage)

AMC's hit series The Walking Dead is finally coming to a close after 11 seasons. The drama centered on the survivors of a zombie apocalypse will already be mostly available before the panel, but that leaves room for a sneak peek at the November series finale. There's also the possibility that the creative team will take this opportunity to tee up what's next for The Walking Dead with a look at one of the many upcoming spin-offs.

Wednesday (October 8, 7:45 PM – Empire Stage)

Another classic TV spin-off that puts the focus squarely on its young female lead, Wednesday is a fresh take on The Addams Family coming to Netflix. This cast and crew panel will include Wednesday actor Jenna Ortega and others, as it explores the altogether ooky family dynamics ahead of the series' November release.

Doom Patrol and Titans (October 9, 3:30 PM – Main Stage)

Another two-for-one panel pairs two of HBO Max's biggest comic-based shows back-to-back. First, the cast of Doom Patrol–including an Oscar buzzy Brendan Fraser–will talk about the fourth season that's coming soon to the service. Then Titans will have its own panel to preview its next season, hosted by producer Greg Walker and Brenton Thwaites, who plays Dick Grayson aka Nightwing.

Weird (October 9, 4 PM ET – Empire Stage)

The anticipated Weird Al mockumentary from Roku is getting its own panel because New York Comic-Con was always a little weird. The panel will feature director Eric Appel, actors Daniel Radcliffe and Evan Rachel Wood, and even the subject of the satirical biopic himself, Weird Al Yankovich.
